About
Hello! I’m Emma Diehl, the head editor of Elephant Eyes. Mental health has been a focus in my life, from both my personal experience dealing with anxiety and depression and my family’s experiences with neurodivergence. I am fascinated with how the mind works, and I know that dealing with mental health problems can be an isolating experience. I wanted to create a space where people feel free to share their experiences and help others with theirs. Thus, Elephant Eyes was born!
Elephant Eyes is an online literary journal focused on narratives, artistic interpretations, and otherwise new and interesting information on understanding mental health. Our journal’s mission is to create a space where writers can share their experiences with mental health, provide new ways of understanding certain mental health conditions, and even offer new and helpful facts about mental health that you wouldn’t usually find in a standard classroom environment. (For instance, if you’re ever dealing with heart palpitations from anxiety or depression, clasp your hands together, press your thumbs side by side, put them in your mouth, and blow on them without letting any air pass through. It's supposed to regulate nerves in your body that calm your heart down!)
We hope you enjoy!
